On 18 September, Sergeant Timothy Sayne, was killed in Afghanistan by an IED. He was assigned to the 5th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, based in Ft. Wainwright, Alaska. He was on a mission in Afghanistan.
