Roger and I have written about what incredible resources the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) are for aspiring creative artists. Just the discounts alone from becoming a member are more than worth the $99 annual membership fee.
Twice each year, in the spring on the East Coast and the fall in Lost Wages, they hold an amazing event called Photoshop World—do you hear the trumpet fanfare? It’s coming up, and we are headed down to Orlando, FL, for a working vacation. Working, because typically we spend 12-18 hours taking amazing classes, drooling over the latest equipment from all the vendors on the exhibition floor, and attending Midnight Madness, so it’s not much vacation. This will be my 4th time, and I have learned some amazing lessons each time.

Thanks heavens this year it’s in Florida. While I do love Boston, I am more than ready for some sunshine and warmth. Roger and I wandered around the North End last year and took a side trip to Concord to catch these pictures last year.
This year we managed to sign up to attend one of the coolest Pre-conference workshops- a Photo Safari. This will be led by two of our heroes, Joe McNally and Moose Peterson. Joe often shoots for a little magazine called National Geographic and is a wizard with all types of flash and lighting.
Now, the cost is always an issue, but folks the workbook you get contains every course from every instructor and is the size of the NYC phone book. More importantly, you get to learn from the true giants in both photography and Photoshop. As an added bonus, you meet people from all over the world who share the passion and commitment to this amazing art.
