Roger,

Great suggestions. I signed up for the Kelby training at the end of the year and have watched hours of it already. Well worth the investment! The only downside is that it makes you want to run out and buy a few thousand dollars worth of gear immediately after you learn how to use it!

Also, you're right about the batteries. I had a friend over for a portrait shoot last night and I was down one wireless receiver for lack of a pair of charged AAA batteries. Still got a good shot with a softbox and reflector, but it would have been great to have a hair light. Also, if I knew my equipment better, I realize in hindsight that I could have slaved the second SB800 off the one with the good trigger if I knew my equipment a little better. That's another of your pointers, isn't it?

Very timely blog entry.

Sheesh. You are a hard taskmaster. You mean I actually have to charge those batteries?
